The Learning Lab has helped me in so many ways. First I would have to say it gave me self-esteem. I learned that I can learn. I can read a lot better and my spelling is doing a lot better. I’m also working on my math and typing skills. Typing is real exciting for me because I never thought I could learn how to type.

My two daughters also come to the Learning Lab with me. It has helped them with their self-esteem and I know they are so much more ready to go to school than they would have been without it. In Parent And Children’s Time, I’ve learned lots of ideas, things to do with my kids to teach them as we spend time together.

The Learning Lab has not only provided a tool in which I am able to obtain my G.E.D., it also has given me hope. It has given me confidence. It has given me a way of making my dream a reality.

After I have my G.E.D. I plan to go to B.S.U. and get a degree in nursing. I am no longer looking for the "rainbow" but I am now on my way up it, and in a few years will be sliding down to find my own "pot of gold."

Learning Lab has made it possible for a forty-two year old woman making six dollars an hour, to become a R.N. and make more than twice that.
